Sorry, but at the moment some of the slideshows on this website will not work on an iPad, tablet or phone, only on a PC or laptop running Flash. I am currently updating slideshows, so do try again soon.

Large ships passing: Cadgwith, 8th January 2005

Working with a digital camera allowed me to time things more accurately and simplified the process by removing the need to scan negatives and adjust framing and colour balance for each individual shot

It also allowed me to accommodate larger changes in light intensity and set a consistent exposure value and colour balance to more accurately record rapid changes as light moves across water.

In some other series I have worked in black & white to capture shifting tonalities, in others I have worked in colour – setting a constant colour balance – to capture changes in light temperature.
